Oven baked salisbury steak is one of my favorite meals because it is so simple to make and can be done entirely in the oven. I love the french onion gravy and the juicy beef patty.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 can (10.5 oz) french onion soup
- 1/2 cup Italian style bread crumbs
- 1 egg
- 1/4 ts salt
- 1/4 ts pepper
- 1 ts onion powder
- 1/2 green pepper, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp flour
- 1/3 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 ts ground mustard seed
INSTRUCTIONS
-
In a large bowl mix together ground beef, 1/3 cup of the french onion soup, Italian style bread crumbs, egg, salt, pepper, onion powder, and green pepper.
-
Once the above ingredients are all mixed well with the ground beef, shape into patties. I made five patties out of one pound of ground beef.
-
Lightly coat the baking dish with butter before placing the patties in the dish to bake.
-
Bake on 400 degrees for twelve minutes. Drain the grease from the baking dish before adding in the gravy.
-
To make the gravy mix together flour, remaining french onion soup, ketchup, water, Worcestershire sauce and the ground mustard seed in a large bowl.
-
Pour the gravy over the steak patties and bake for 20 minutes on 400.

Enjoy!
