We raise Berkshire pigs, known for yielding tender, juicy, and well marbled pork.
The pigs are moved to a new section of wooded pasture throughout the summer months. This allows them to have fresh greenery to munch on, a new area to explore, and plenty of shade to keep cool. The pigs are also offered a free choice NON GMO diet and fresh water daily. The goal is to raise happy and healthy pigs and to fill our local customer's freezers with high quality pork!
PRICING:
1/2 Hog- $100 deposit due at the time of ordering and then the remaining due at the time of harvest. $4/ lb hanging weight, calculated at harvest. The processing fee is due to Swiss Meats at pick up. Approximate hanging weight for half hog is 100- 120 lbs.
Whole Hog- $200 deposit due at the time of ordering and then the remaining due at the time of harvest. $4/ lb hanging weight, calculated at harvest. The processing fee is due to Swiss Meats at pick up. Approximate hanging weight for whole hog is 200- 240 lbs.
Important notes**
This year we are taking our pigs to Swiss Meat and Sausage Co. located near Hermann MO. The pick up will be at Swiss Meats- 2056 S. Highway 19, Hermann, MO 65041.
Pork processing fees are determined by your custom cut order. Curing, seasonings, and specialty items such as bratwurst will add cost so it is hard to give a processing estimate.
