FAQ

Can I make this recipe with a different roast?

Yes. You can easily swap the sirloin tip roast for an arm, rump, or chuck roast.

How Do I slice against the grain?

When slicing your roast it is important to slice it against the grain. This will yield a more tender roast that is easier to chew through. Slicing against the grain means you cut through the muscle fibers and shorten them. To do this, you need to first identify the direction that the muscle fibers are going. Then, slice the opposite way so that you shorten those muscle fibers.

What to serve with Slow Cooker Sirloin Tip Roast

I like to peel and boil potatoes to make with this recipe. Once the potatoes are softened you can dice them up for serving. You could also easily use a a hand mixer and add some butter and milk for mashed potatoes. Be sure to cover them in that delicious gravy you made with the broth.

Sirloin Tip Roast Leftovers

Roast makes the perfect leftovers. Oftentimes, I prepare roast earlier in the week so that I can save the leftovers for healthy roast beef sandwiches for easy lunches. You can serve the roast cold or rewarm it on the stovetop or in the microwave. The leftover roast will keep in the refrigerator for up to four days. Be sure to store the roast and the gravy in the same dish so that the juices help keep the roast moist and tender.
